The park is located at the apex of the beautiful Congo Nile Range in between 1550 and 2660 m of altitude, the second largest Wildlife reserve for the apes viewing in Kibira National Park covering an area of 40,000 hectares. Kibira National Park serves as the sources for various rivers and streams that provide water around the country and the area receives the highest rain fall in the country, it has very thick forest vegetation that tourists have gone deep to discover more about the mysteries that lie with in the park from bird species to the Wildlife.
The vegetation cpover of Kibira National Park comprises of Montane rain forest which overlooks two vast plantations; Teza and Rwegura and cover goes beyond 1,100m high with major tree species like the symphonia Globulifera, newtonia Buchananil, and many more.
